Crabs - algae and Ladybugs - Plants | Pt 2

 Spider crabs are one of the most bizarre species of crabs discovered till today. They can from few inches long to a whopping 3 meters (or more sometimes) when fully grown. It can be very easily spotted while hunting. That's why they grow algae on their backs to fool the fish or whatever the prey is by camouflaging to the surrounding with help of algae.




This also provides a good place to live for the algae as there is no competition in it's habitat (on the crab) and is exposed to sunlight more than before by which it synthesizes glucose. 

Ladybugs are also one of many species of beetles. A ladybug is a good sign in a garden because it can mean fewer problems from pests, particularly the dreaded aphids. Aphids feed on plant tissues and can also transmit viruses to plants, but an adult ladybug may consume hundreds of aphids a day and thousands in its lifetime. It is important for the plants to provide ladybugs with an alternative food source when meals of pest insects are scarce. Flowers produce nectar and pollen, which ladybugs also need to survive. So that they remain untouched by aphids and other pests.



These are just simple and common ones but the ones that we are goin to experience in the next part (Pt 3) are one of the most complex and intricate systems in the whole world prepared to be shocked by the examples of ..................
