Arctic chills #3 | Penguins and walrus

Penguins and their ancestors lost the ability to fly long ago. They spend most of their time in waters and come to land to breed and feed the young. It takes about 4 and half months usually for the young to take it to the ocean. They swim at speeds of 4 to 7 miles per hour. Their limbs are modified into flippers for flapping in water. They are adapted to their dominantly aquatic life. The 'Emperor' and the 'Adelie' are only two species that breed in Antarctica of all penguin species. They have feathers which traps air aiding in insulating of it's body from the freezing cold temperatures of the arctic. They also moult on land. They eat smaller fish and other lesser aquatic invertebrates.

Emperor Penguin the largest of all, stands at a height of 4 feet

Gentoo Penguins, the fastest swimmers of all penguins at 22 miles per hour ( about 35.4kmph ) in the oceans.

Walrus

Walruses have tough and thick skin. They have streamlined body to swim easily.
Walrus's canines grow about 1m in length and form their ivory tusks in both genders. They feed on shellfish, clams and sea urchins from the bottom of the ocean. They also swallow stones as whole for mulching and digestion of the food in their stomach.
