The Weirdos | Sarcastic Fringehead | The Alien fish
Despite it's name and except their jaws and everything about this fish seems straight forward.
This fish lives at the sea floors ( 10 to 240ft ) and in corals. They have a long dorsal fin. Their jaws are oddly shaped unfolding in a triangle shape when opened. They are mostly known for their extremely wide and large mouth and their fierce lightning fast attacks. They have razor sharp teeth and powerful jaws. They have Ocelli, Light-sensitive cells on their bodies to sense movements and slight changes in their surroundings.
The males protect the eggs. They frequently fight with other fringe heads for territorial dominance and also scare away other potential competitors. They are also Omnivorous. Also when they open their mouth the volume increases by 4-fold due to the unfolding jaws. This creates a temporary vacuum and sucks the prey in, giving no opportunity for the prey to escape whatsoever.
